I can't thank all you guys enough for giving me the opportunity to ride such an amazing horse in the show! It was SO much fun and Winnie was AMAZING!! She really strutted her stuff out there!! I love how excited she looks in those jumping pictures and video. She really helped me look good out there too and i couldn't be more proud of her! I feel so honored to be the one lucky enough to ride her in that show. All I can say is thank you, thank you, thank you!

First I apologize I have been spelling your name wrong. Second the pleasure was all our and Winnie's and we were honored you would ride her. I think Winnie is relieved that you can let her do what she loves, unfortunately we can't which is probably a waste of a good horse.

Winnie has had a tough few days with painful welts all over her body. She tried hard to keep her good personality. It ended up being the fly spray, she has sensitive skin. After a few days of no fly spray, cold bath 2x a day she now is welt free and back to lovable. Yesterday a specialist farrier worked on her and an amazing difference from legs are no longer pigeon toed and she spent a lot of time balancing her. I can't wait for you to ride her again because she does not seem so bouncy in the trot as I recall, her hoofs don't hit/click each other, and she stays in a frame better. However, she got bored with me. She started doing dressage stuff and responding to things I was doing but didn't realize I was. She LOVES to work.

Justine rode again tonight in the large outdoor with two other horses, and Winnie was a perfect lady/mother. Even when a horse tried to spook her on blind side she did not let herself do anything quick. She also would not trot for Justine (she wasn't supposed to anyway), but would anyone else easily.

There is a strong chance that Jolene will compete with her on Sunday.

Take care, and thank you again

Hi guys! Just wanted to say that I love the blog. I'm so happy that Winnie had a chance to show with Briana, they're SO good together. Congrats on the placings (out of 17 in the 1st class!) It's probably a good thing that Win had the day off from showing on Sunday, at least until her feet are done being tender. Looking forward to riding her again! I'll see you soon. Have a Happy 4th if I don't talk to you before then. Can't wait for Justine to be able to lesson again!

Briana & Jolene,

We volunteered all day yesterday at the CHA show. Jen and Beachbaby did well but then again they were competing against big Micki. We have been going to check on Winnie 2x a day (I think she's spoiled now). Took her to the big arena and I think her feet are good now. She trot without being told, canter on first ask and then her old self, down to the grass area to eat and then WHAMM!! Gallup for all she was worth to the top. Her new trick was to canter or gallup almost perfect S patterns around the arena and she was changing lead as she did it. The ground poles were still there, obviously no height to them so she went for distance and jumped them both. Justine tried some stuff she learned at halter class and to our surprise, Winnie would trot and do the stuff. Apparently she's done it before. Ethan tried and stood on the wrong side of her, she picked up her head an he dangled from the lead rope like a yo yo and she gently set him down on the left side of her face, took a step backward to get in stance.

Winnie has really taken a liking to Ethan suddenly. Very slow and gentle around him and she walks with head low at his shoulder.

Thank you both for all you have done to help us and Winnie out. We apologize if we have become annoying. However I get a lot of enjoyment watching both of you because she is happiest with you because well.... you can do it and we stink. Sometimes I think we don't deserve her or we are a waste of a good horse.

Thanks again,

Darrin & Justine
